Revinate is a well-known provider in the hotel industry. They made their name in reputation management but since have expanded their offering to CRM and Marketing. As they have been in the market for many years, the product is mature and is packed with many useful features that help the life of a modern hotelier. But this comes at a cost.
More than you need
If you are a first-time user of Revinate, it has a lot to offer. It is packed with all sorts of interesting features. This can be good if you are a big chain, but for most hoteliers, you don’t need most of it. This means on a daily basis you work with a very complicated interface and you won’t be using 80% of the features but you are paying for it.
One of their strengths has always been analytics and if you are one of those persons who want to spend days digging into every nuance of your guest data be it feedback or newsletters, this is a tool for you. But most hoteliers don’t have a dedicated person to manage the software. This means something that sounds good during sales, that you can do all these awesome things, but most will do very little. Essentially you will experience data overload. This means you won’t act on anything as decision-making becomes noisy. Oh, and I didn’t mention the data cleanup project. Always fun.
Market conditions have changed and being a hotelier means, you need to be very careful how you spend your hard-earned money. This means you will overpay for something you only use 20%. Don’t be fooled by all the bells and whistles. You probably never going to need it.
