Our fairly new partner the Serinamar Apartments is located in Marbella, Spain. The bay area caters to the needs of families, romantic travellers and those seeking adventure it is a wonderful place to relax, shop, eat and much more! Tanger, Morocco is just a boat ride away.
We interviewed Patricia and Giorgi our shared customers with Cloudbeds about their experience with local tourism and their hopes for this season.
What’s your story, how did you end up working at the Serinamar Apartments?
Patricia: I am originally from this city, Marbella and have been working at the Apartments for 15 years. I’d like to say I know the company quite well.
After finishing my studies in hotel management I went to London and Ireland to improve my English and gain some working experience. I have always been working in hotels, doing about everything you can in the industry, from entertainment to accounting, reception and now management. I am pretty familiar with all the departments.
At the moment most of my tasks are based at the reception with Georgi, but we both do a bit of everything.
Georgi: I am actually originally from Bulgaria, but haven’t lived there for a long time. I spend the past 13 years in the UK and here in Spain. The hospitality sector is fairly new to me – besides a short period when I was a porter boy in Holiday Inn. Then life somehow led me to Spain and I found this job. I am very happy now, been working at Serinamar Apartments for 3.5 years and I am improving my Spanish skills.
Tell us about the magnificent area!
Patricia: We are located in one of the best spots of the harbour, full of activities, shops and things to do. The weather is always fantastic, everybody love to go to our beaches. You can go dolphin watching in the bay area, row boats, or simply enjoy the sun in a restaurant that serves amazing Spanish food; typical local dishes with fish from the sea. I think the best paella in the country is found here!
Giorgi: The port is the epicentre of all the action in the area, its a brand, it’s a destination. We are close enough so our guests will not miss out on any activity yet far enough to allow them to relax in peace.
I am really proud that the Serinamar Apartments keeps up the gardening traditions of southern Spain, we maintain our grounds daily. The houses imitate the style of a typical cortijo and in the middle of our gardens, we have a spacious swimming pool.
What about the accommodation, why should anyone travelling to Marbella stay with you?
Giorgi: Our reviews speak for us! We provide the best personal customer service, it’s given and granted. The garden, the pool area is very unique and we have staff taking care of cleaning every day. We have regular guests returning each year, which kind of proves how satisfied they are.
Patricia: In the resort, we have 60 apartments, all of them are fully equipped, just like your own house. It’s not a hotel or an Airbnb, it’s your true vacation home and we are very family-oriented. The huge terraces face the mountain, La Concha so the view is simply breathtaking.
Do you have any daily challenges at the Apartments?
Patricia: the apartments are pretty big and visitors usually arrive early. They want to check-in as soon as they are here, so we are always in a hurry with cleaning.
Giorgi: I like the challenge! It is our mission to satisfy our guests and to meet their expectations daily, and I am here to do that. We want guests to make unforgettable memories, and to return.
Patricia: Parties are sometimes an issue, but usually just the first night when new guests are here. Most of our visitors chose to go out in the city, and come home very tired.
Giorgi: As we are in Spain, a very relaxed and modern country, these issues are not really big. There are many great places to let off some steam and our guests are respectful enough to go there.
What are your experiences with GuestJoy?
Giorgi: I am the one who set it up and takes care of it. We like GuestJoy a lot, the interface is neat and tidy. There are no technical issues and I don’t have to enter the platform every day for it to work. Andrew always answers my questions immediately and we are informed clearly about every update. I love the frequent communication and articles you share.
Patricia: We are really looking forward to the end of summer when we can see how GuestJoy worked for us this season. Unfortunately, we are losing out on UK customers this year, but we are very hopeful that we will be able to accommodate other European travellers, especially now that you have contactless check-in!
